Mark Moreno

Mark has been playing soccer his entire life.   Mark played for the Avellino soccer club for 2 years and finished his youth career with the 75 United team coached by Andy Barney.  Mark lettered in soccer one year at J.C. Harmon High School and three years at Bishop Ward High School.   He started all four years in the center midfield and was voted First Team Kansas city All Metro his senior year.   In 1994, Mark had the opportunity to play at Avila University where he was coached again by Andy Barney and Andy's good friend Huw Williams.  After only 1 year at Avila, Mark chose to end his college career and transfer to the University of Kansas where he graduated from the Engineering School with a Computer Science degree in 1998.  Mark's success on and off the field is true representation of Andy's philosophy.   Andy inspired Mark to be Brave, Creative and a leader for life.  After college, Mark has been in the computer programming industry for the last 20 years.   In addition, he has been a volunteer in organizations like Americorps, Boys and Girls Club, and Youthfriends.   In 2000, Mark started his coaching career with the independent premiere club where he enjoyed a lot of success with the club.  He enjoyed coaching kids to be great players but also be great leaders on and off the field.  Hence, joining the KC Legends Soccer Club was inevitable.   After 15 years, Andy Barney persuaded Mark to join the club and he is very excited and motivated to continue the tradition of Legends Soccer.
